Twin boys were born prematurely on July 11, 1949 in Bluefield, VA. Twin One was born at 3:59 A.M. Twin Two was born at 4:06 A.M. One of the boys was larger but the smaller one was healthier, with more fully formed lungs. The larger twin died about 9 hours after birth from lung failure. The smaller twin is still living and has had mostly normal health. See if you can pick out the healthy twin. The data comes from the grown sister of the preceding twins and she also lost a little sister who died at the age of 11. For a second challenge, readers can study the sister’s chart and see if they can figure out the physical or psychological cause of her death.
